Six of our members played a very enjoyable round of Pitch and Putt on the Malahide Castle Demesne course on Thursday, 5 September. We divided the group into 2 3-balls and following coffee and refreshments in the Tree House Café set off for the course at 11.45.
The course was in beautiful condition and we had lovely weather for playing, although the sudden wind gusts made some of the driving shots challenging.
After playing 18 holes we finished up at approximately 3pm and proceeded to tot up the scores – in front of the seated gallery of three at the 18th!
Our winner on this occasion with a great round of 62 including 2 birdies (one from a superb putt from off the green) was Gay Duffy.
The ‘competition’ was held in a very sporting and friendly atmosphere and we hope to have another one possibly in the Spring. It was proposed that maybe at the next outing we should have a winner’s prize – possibly a ‘perpetual’ trophy?
We look forward to more of our members participating in this fun sport at our next outing.
