We all very much enjoyed the Mushroom Hunt on 4th October, led by one of our members Dr Paul Dowding. We met in the Royal Marine Hotel in Sutton Cross and then drove to Deerpark, which is about five minutes away. There we skirted the golf course and reached the oak and beech woodland and the hunt commenced! We were lucky to find many different types of mushrooms which Paul identified and explained whether or not they were edible and in some cases, what uses were made of them.
