On Tuesday 16th and Monday 22nd October Members enjoyed a visit to Votail 100 which commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the parliamentary vote for women in Ireland. Senator Ivana Bacik met us at the Kildare Street Gate and once we proceeded through security we began the tour. Senator Bacik gave a short talk on the coming together of the Exhibition and highlighted items of interest. We then began a tour of Leinster House (which we didn’t realise was included in the visit) and afterwards had tea/coffee in the Bar/Café. See photos in the Gallery.
The Exhibition will now be open for the rest of the year and members who were unable to attend on the above dates, or may like a return visit, should contact a TD or Senator to sponsor a visit. Public tours are available on days when the Dail is not sitting. They begin at 10.30, 11.30, 2.30 and 3.30. Please see www.oireachtas.ie for more information.
