About 25 members of the Association signed up for the walk of Georgian Dublin on a cold but dry day. Our walk leader was Lorcan O’Meara, an experienced walk leader who was full of information and enthusiasm. Our walk began in Dublin Castle and the Chapel Royal and then on to the Upper Yard in the Castle and City Hall. We then proceeded to Parliament Street and Temple Bar and on to College Green and Trinity College, with the walk ending in Merrion Square.
Lorcan’s knowledge of Georgian Dublin seemed vast and he shared it with us without any written prompts! By the end of the walk, we all felt we knew a lot more than when it started.
