The Executive Committee invites members to a coffee morning with Patrick Wyse Jackson in the Global Room, Watts Building, TCD from 10 am.-12 noon. Professor Patrick Wyse Jackson is currently Head of the School of Natural Sciences in TCD. He will talk on the fascinating history and architecture of the Museum Building in College. The building is inspired by the Byzantine architecture of Venice and was built in 1853-1857. The many interior and exterior carvings were executed by the Cork-born brothers John and James O’Shea, who gathered fresh flowers to use as their models.
Please note that the coffee morning is to be held on 28th March and NOT on 21st March as previously indicated.
