Dear Member
Below is information on a research project by Trinity College.
If you are interested reply to the contact below and not to this email.
Research: Understanding self-directed ageism
Are you aged 50 or older and would be interested in taking part in a research study about how older adults think about and experience ageism in Ireland. Would you be interested in speaking with us in a group interview in-person in Trinity College Dublin or online? The information you share with us will be considered completely confidential.
We are researchers from Trinity College Dublin, and we are carrying out research by speaking to people living in Ireland about how they observe or experience self-directed ageism.
The aim of the study is to explore and understand self-directed ageism, whereby older people internalise negative stereotyping, and stop doing or being who they want to be because of their age. This study will help researchers, policy makers and organisations such as Age Action to support older people and to counter internalised ageist beliefs that evidence tells us is life-limiting and contributes to the social exclusion of older people.
If you think you might be interested in taking part in this research, we would be delighted to hear from you and answer any questions you may have. Please contact Dr Catherine Elliott O’Dare for more information.
