Request for volunteering from Foróige

Dear Members,

Below is a request for volunteering from Foróige. The program is run by Foróige not the TRA. For further information please contact Diane Sadler <SADLERD@tcd.ie>. Please do not email the TRA.

I’m reaching out to the local Groups in the area to share an exciting opportunity to get involved in a new Intergenerational Mentoring Programme launching in the Dublin South city area with Foróige.

We are looking for older volunteers who would love to connect with young people in the community, offering guidance, support, and friendship through fun activities and life skills coaching.

What’s Involved? •    A 10-week mentoring programme where you’ll meet a young person weekly (60-90 minutes). •    Sessions will be held onsite in the Liberties or surrounding area within the City, with a Foróige staff member present. •    Activities will include games, conversations, and life skills development.

Why Join? •    Make a real difference in a young person’s life. •    Share your wisdom and experiences in a fun and relaxed setting. •    Meet like-minded volunteers and help strengthen the local community.

No previous mentoring experience is needed—just a willingness to listen, connect, and support a young person. If you feel this may interest some of the groups in the area and you’re interested in learning more, I’d love to chat!

Please reply to this email or give me a call and I could arrange a Tea/Coffee morning to give a brief informal information session. Looking forward to hearing from you! Best regards, Claire Mentoring Programme Officer
