Dear Members, The Executive Committee of the Retirement Association are organising a walk along the towpath of the Royal Canal, from Leixlip Confey train station to Maynooth on Thursday December 6th. This walk is on the flat all the way and will take 11/2 —2hours and will be led by two of our members.
We will meet at Leixlip Confey train station at 11.15am.
The Commuter train to Maynooth leaves Connolly station at 10.47am (usually from platform 7, but check on the day) and stops at Leixlip Confey. If travelling by car ,there is a car park at the station —there may be a charge.
There are tea ,coffee and lunch facilities very close to the end of the walk and there are regular trains back to Leixlip Confey and Connolly stations.
We did this walk a couple of years ago in beautiful sunshine—let’s hope we will be as lucky this time. However be prepared for rain and wear suitable footwear. If you haven’t walked with the Association before, you will be asked to sign a disclaimer form at the start of the walk.
If you would like to join us on this walk please let us know by email ( email@example.com) or on the website so that we will know how many to expect. Also, if on the day you find that you are unable to come please call 0863678727.
Disclaimer / Footwear / Outerwear If you join this walk, you must take full responsibility for yourself and be aware that you participate at your own risk. Participants will be asked to complete the attached Disclaimer Form (unless you have already completed one) before setting out on the walk. It is important that you have sturdy footwear – walking shoes or boots with ridged soles for grip – particularly in wet weather. You should also have appropriate outerwear and be prepared for rain. Please let us know if you will be joining this walk so that we have an idea of the number of people to expect. You can sign up on the website, or you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All the best Executive Committee
