Tour of the Rubrics and the Chief Steward’s house

April 20, 2023 @ 11:00 - 13:00

You are invited to a tour of two  newly refurbished buildings in College: the Rubrics and the Chief Steward’s house on Thursday 20th April at 11 a.m.. Numbers are limited to 15 given the size of rooms in the building. Depending on numbers a second tour might be scheduled on the same day at 12 noon.

The Rubrics is the oldest building on campus and was built around 1700. The upper floor was added in 1894. The recently completed refurbishment includes geothermal heat pumps to meet the energy demands of nearby buildings.

The Chief Steward’s House was designed by John McCurdy and built in 1861 by Fetherstone builders as a lodge for the Chief Steward at a cost of £900.

Booking opens at 1pm on April 6th.

This tour is for paid up members only. Instructions for meeting will be sent 24 hours beforehand.
