‘Sacred Wells of Ireland: where does the water come from and is it good to drink?’, a lecture by Bruce Misstear on Zoom, 27th January at 11 am

Dear Members, you are invited to join Bruce Misstear, Fellow Emeritus TCD, for a lecture to the Trinity Retirement Association entitled ‘Sacred wells of Ireland: Where does the water come from and is it good to drink?’ The lecture is scheduled to take place via Zoom video link on Wednesday, January 27th 2021 at 11am.

‘Sacred Wells of Ireland: where does the water come from and is it good to drink?’

‘Bruce Misstear has recently completed a hydrogeological study of more than 200 of Ireland’s holy wells. His talk will seek to answer questions like: Are holy wells more common in some geologies than others? Are there differences between the water chemistries in holy wells compared to other wells? Are there linkages between the chemical characteristics and the reputed health cures associated with many wells?
