Dr Stephen Waldron, Botany Department TCD has kindly offered to host a visit for the Trinity Retirement Association to the Trinity College Botanic Garden at 11 am on Thursday 11 May 2023.
The garden’s origins date back over 330 years to its inception in 1687 as a physic garden for the teaching of medicine at Trinity College. Since then it has changed location twice, and has been in Dartry, Dublin 6 since 1967. Today, the garden serves as a teaching and research facility for the Trinity College Botany Department. It is home to a living collection of approximately 4000 species, and also houses the Irish Threatened Plant Seedbank.
