The Retirement Association Executive Committee have organised a guided tour of Casino Marino for Tuesday November 12th. We will meet at the steps to the Casino at 11.20am and our Tour will begin at 11.30am , lasting approximately 1hr. Please note that access to the building is by 12 stone steps and access to the 1st floor is by a spiral wooden staircase with approximately 35 steps.
This is a late 18th century building designed by Sir William Chambers and is widely acknowledged as the most important example of neoclassical architecture in Ireland. It is managed and operated by OPW who have recently reopened 4 ground floor and 3 first floor rooms for tours , after a long period of closure for renovation.
Casino Marino is situated north of the city centre just off the Malahide Rd. after the junction with Griffith Ave. Turn left at the pedestrian lights just after Dublin Fire Brigade Training Centre HQ into Cherrymount Crescent. Entrance to Casino Marino is through the gates on your left after entering Cherrymount Crescent.
Buses. : 14, 27, 27A, 27B, 42, 43, 128. ( Nearest stop to Casino is Nazareth House ) Dart. : Clontarf Road Dart Station is 25mins. walk to the Casino (uphill on Malahide Rd.) Cars. : There is free car parking at the Casino.
