(Being organised in conjunction with the Travel Department)
Thursday 26 November – Sunday 29 November 2015 (3 nights B&B)
Several members have suggested that they would be very interested in a trip abroad so the Committee has been making enquiries and has found that the most efficient way to organise such a trip is in conjunction with the Travel Department whose wide experience in coordinating holidays is second to none.
Budapest is a beautiful city and the weeks leading up to Christmas are particularly special as you will take in the festive Christmas Markets and atmosphere. At the end of November Vörösmarty Square turns into a festive market place. The location is ideal – the Square is in the heart of the city at the end of Váci utca. There are performances on two stages from 17.00 till 20.00: folk, jazz, world music concerts, dance house performances that entertain visitors to the fair.
Budapest is known as the ‘Pearl of the Danube’ and it is easy to see why this city is considered one of Europe’s most magnificent cities. The glorious architecture of Hungary’s parliament building, UNESCO World Heritage site Andrásy Avenue – starting from the historic Heroes Square and stretching almost as far as St Stephen’s Basilica, and the Gothic castle of Buda are some of the fabulous sights that this truly amazing city can boast.
Think about it! We would love to see you on this trip.
