The TRA have organised a Howth Head Walk on Tuesday 8th March
We will meet at 10.30 outside Howth DART Station.
The proposed walk(Lower Cliff Loop, see https://whattodoie.wordpress.com/2015/01/04/howth-lower-cliff-loop-walk/) is 6 km long and should take between 1h30 and 2 hours plus the duration of the coffee break at the Summit Inn, about half way.
Parking is available at Howth Harbour but it can be quite busy so arrive in good time. It is free for 2 hours. See https://www.parkopedia.ie/parking/howth . There are also pay and display options along the main road.
The first section of the walk is on the road, from the Dart station to the Kilrock car park and is a long steady incline from Balscadden Bay to Kilrock.
The terrain from the Kilrock Car park to the Summit is rougher than on some of our previous walks and walking boots or strong shoes are recommended.
The walk is very safe but the first half follows the coast line on top of the cliffs at times and people prone to vertigo may find it slightly daunting.
Should the weather be bad, we may decide to cancel.
If you wish to join this event please use the website ticket system when invited.
