You are invited to a presentation on Zoom entitled ‘Stephen Sondheim – the king of Broadway Musical Theatre’ This audio visual presentation will be given by Michael Grant at 2 pm. on Tuesday, November 9th 2021.

In his audio-visual presentation Michael will explore the creative output of the living legend of Broadway Musical Theatre, the composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, whose Broadway output of 18 shows spans the period 1954 to 2008. He turned 91 in March this year!

Michael will include audio-visual excerpts from many of his shows including Westside Story, Gypsy, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Anyone Can Whistle, Do I Hear A Waltz, Company, Sweeney Todd and Into The Woods.

Michael Grant is a retired civil servant. From 1993 he was Assistant Secretary General with responsibility for policy formulation in relation Broadcasting, the National Cultural Institutions and the Arts Council in the newly established Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht under Minister Michael D. Higgins and subsequently in the various ministries that assumed responsibility for the cultural institutions and the arts until his retirement in 2004.
