Dear Members,

The Executive Committee of the Retirement Association has organised a guided visit to Dublin Writers Museum, No 18 Parnell Square (close to Hugh Lane Gallery ) for Thursday 27th June. We will meet in the cafe in the Hugh Lane Gallery ( to the right at Gallery reception desk and downstairs ) at 10.45 am. There will be time for tea /coffee there before going to the Writers Museum where our tour will begin at 11.30 am.

The Dublin Writers Museum opened in 1991. It occupies an original 18th century Georgian town house. Visitors to here will be introduced to the main authors and events that shaped Irish Literature and led to the creation of still popular masterpieces as different as Dracula and Ulysses. It brings to life the writers and their times with photographs, portraits, letters and first editions as well as items that once belonged to them eg. Sam Beckett’s specially designed telephone !

The cost for this tour is € 5 .

If you would like to join us, you can book a place on our website www.tcdretired.ie This is the preferred method for booking.
