Faithlegg House Hotel, County Waterford

March 8, 2016 - March 10, 2016

You are invited to join other members of the Trinity Retirement Association and their guests for a two-night midweek break in Faithlegg House from Tuesday 8th March to Thursday 10th March.

Faithlegg House Hotel and Golf Resort   www.faithlegg.ie

Faithlegg is an 18th restored mansion in County Waterford.  It has 66 bedrooms, extensive grounds, a leisure centre, and an 18 hole golf course.

All guests have access to the facilities on site including full use of the leisure centre (swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam and jacuzzi), mapped walks and use of bicycles, daily golf clinic (weather dependent), and daily newspapers.

Also included in this offer is a complimentary pass to Waterford’s City Treasures– the Bishop’s Palace, the Medieval Museum, and Reginald’s Tower.

Faithlegg has an excellent reputation for food and has just won its second AA rosette.

Check-in time at the hotel is 3pm but the hotel advises that it may be possible to facilitate those who arrive earlier.  Check-out time is 12noon.

Cost

A twin room (two people sharing) for two nights bed and breakfast and two evening meals costs €145 per person sharing.

Single rooms have a supplement of €30 per night, so the cost of a single room will be €205.  The Association will refund €10 to members booking single rooms so the actual cost will be €195 for two nights bed and breakfast and two evening meals.

Getting there

For those who choose to drive to Faithlegg, it will take about two and a half hours from Dublin.  It is located 107miles/173 km from Dublin via the M9.  Free parking is available at the hotel.

Those travelling by public transport can take the train from Dublin Heuston to Waterford Plunkett, a journey which takes 2 hours 10 minutes.  There is a train from Heuston to Waterford Plunkett on 8th March at 10.15am and at 13.15pm.  On the return journey on 10th March, there is a train leaving Waterford Plunkett at 11.00am and at 13.05pm.  These times are correct at the time of writing but should be checked nearer the time.

Faithlegg is located about 20km / 20 minutes drive from Waterford Plunkett train station.  The hotel has advised us that a taxi from the train station to Faithlegg will cost about €30.  Depending on the taxi, that could transport 4-7 people and the cost of the fare shared.  We will look into the possibility of booking a taxi in advance, depending on numbers travelling by train.

Booking

If you would like to join us on this trip, you should phone Faithlegg House Hotel at 051-382-000 to book a room reserved by Trinity Retirement Association.  We have provisionally reserved double and single rooms for 20 people for Tuesday 8th March to Thursday 10th March and the rates are as mentioned above.  If there is additional demand, booking will depend on availability in Faithlegg.

The Association would appreciate if you would also email info@tcdretired.ie (or phone/text 085 7689 517) to let us know if you have made a booking so that we know how many will be joining us on this trip.
