Are you aged 70 or above, living in Dublin, and take part in any social, cultural, leisure, sporting, or community activities?
Would you be interested in sharing your insights and experiences in a guided conversation with me about your motivations for taking part in social activities?
You are invited to take part in a research study being conducted at Trinity College Dublin. My name is Reece Slade, and I am an undergraduate student in the School of Social Work and Social Policy. This research is being carried out under the supervision of Dr Catherine Elliott O’Dare.
The purpose of this study is to explore how older adults aged 70 and over in Ireland experience social participation, how and why they take part in social, cultural, or community activities, and what helps or challenges their continued involvement. If you decide to take part in this research, you will be invited to take part in a one-to-one interview lasting about 60 minutes. The interview will take place in person at Trinity College Dublin or in a location convenient for you.
Your participation is completely voluntary. You are free to withdraw from the study at any time without giving a reason. Everything you share will be treated as strictly confidential, and all personal information will be securely stored and anonymised. Your insights will contribute to a greater understanding of how older adults maintain active social lives.
If you are interested in participating or would like to find out more, please contact me directly. I will be happy to answer any questions and provide you with an information sheet explaining the study in full detail. Please contact Reece Slade directly at Email: slader@tcd.ie Phone: 089 613 7475
